Cars good, oil and gas bad

Monte Solberg - May 24, 2016

Let’s admit it, our economy is terrible, and I’m not just talking Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland, where oil workers have been laid off in great waves. 110, 000 workers have now washed up on the beach, looking for work. The truth is, there are problems all over the economy. Don Pittis of the CBC writes about it here on News Hub Nation. But things could be so much better with the right public policy.

I’ve written on this a lot, so I’ll be brief. My question is, when is a reporter going to ask the PM why it’s a good thing to promote cars, cars that burn gasoline that comes from oil, but it’s a bad thing to promote the export of natural gas and oil?

Western Canada and Newfoundland want to know.
